Terms of Service

Last Updated: 26th March 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Careira platform, including our website, application, and related services (together, the “Service”), operated by Careira Ltd (“Careira”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Careira is an AI-powered job discovery platform. We help job seekers find roles that match their skills, experience, and preferences, and we provide recruiters and employers with tools to promote vacancies and connect with relevant candidates.

Our Service includes:

  • AI-powered career profile analysis based on your CV and preferences
  • Personalised job matching and recommendations
  • Recruiter and employer tools for creating roles and viewing candidate matches
  • Job board aggregation from third-party sources

3. Account registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When you register, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Your content

You may upload content to the Service, including your CV, profile information, and preferences (“Your Content”). You retain ownership of Your Content.

By uploading Your Content, you grant Careira a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, process, store, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This includes:

  • Parsing and analysing your CV using AI to build your career profile
  • Matching your profile against job opportunities
  • Displaying relevant parts of your profile to recruiters and employers (only where you have chosen to make your profile visible)

You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content is accurate and does not infringe on the rights of any third party. Do not upload content that is fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Create fake accounts or misrepresent your identity
  • Scrape, crawl, or collect data from the Service using automated means
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users

We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

6. AI-generated content and recommendations

Careira uses artificial intelligence to generate career profiles, match scores, and job recommendations. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated outputs may contain errors or inaccuracies.

Job recommendations are provided as decision-support tools, not as professional career advice. You should exercise your own judgement when evaluating opportunities. We do not guarantee that any recommendation will lead to employment or that match scores reflect the likelihood of being hired.

7. Third-party job listings

The Service may display job listings sourced from third-party job boards, company career pages, and recruiter postings. We do not control, verify, or endorse these listings. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or legality of third-party job postings, and we are not a party to any employment relationship that may result from your use of the Service.

8. Recruiter and employer accounts

Recruiters and employers who use the Service agree to:

  • Post only genuine, lawful job opportunities
  • Not use candidate information obtained through the Service for any purpose other than recruitment
  • Comply with all applicable employment and anti-discrimination laws
  • Treat candidate data in accordance with applicable data protection laws

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, features, code, algorithms, branding, and documentation, is owned by Careira Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, or reverse-engineer or attempt to extract any source code, except as permitted by law.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
  • We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be accurate, or be free from errors
  • Careira shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Careira in the twelve months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your account has been inactive for an extended period, or if we discontinue the Service. We will provide reasonable notice where possible.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also have the benefit of any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside.
